USGA GOLF HOUSE | PINEHURST, NC

Next door to the historic Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, the United States Golf Association (USGA) is establishing a second headquarters with the Golf House Pinehurst. The USGA engaged Koontz Jones Design to provide planning and landscape architectural services for their new facility in collaboration with Clearscapes Architecture and NC State University. Golf House Pinehurst will include a new equipment-testing facility, innovation hub, visitor’s center, museum, and USGA administrative offices. The design of the buildings and landscape reflect the historical environment of the Village of Pinehurst and Resort and will include the relocation of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Reflective of the USGA’s mission of environmental sustainability, Golf House features a restored Longleaf Pine grove with wire grasses native to the region and a native pollinator garden along with water-wise native grasses, perennials, shrubs and trees native to North Carolina. The Golf House is set to open in the spring of 2024, in time for the 2024 Men’s US Open at Pinehurst No. 2.
