USGA GOLF HOUSE & world golf hall of fame | PINEHURST, NC

Next door to the historic Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, the United States Golf Association (USGA) a second headquarters campus. The USGA engaged KoontzJones Design to provide planning and landscape architectural services for their new headquarters facility, the USGA Golf House Pinehurst. In collaboration with Clearscapes Architecture and NC State University, KoontzJones Design directed the design and planning of the site and landscape through entitlements, design, permitting, and construction administration/implementation. The Golf House Pinehurst includes a new equipment-testing facility, innovation hub, USGA Experience Museum, World Golf Hall of Fame Museum, and USGA staff administrative offices. The design of the buildings and landscape reflect the historical environment of the Village of Pinehurst and world-famous Pinehurst Resort. Reflective of the USGA’s mission of environmental sustainability, the grounds feature a restored Longleaf Pine Grove with wire grasses native to the region and The Glade, a native pollinator garden with water-wise native grasses, perennials, shrubs, and trees native to North Carolina. KoontzJones Design was honored to be a part of the monumental team effort to bring the USGA to the Home of American Golf.
