COTTAGES ON MAY | SOUTHERN PINES, NC

The Cottages on May is a “traditional neighborhood” community located on the fringes of downtown Southern Pines, within walking distance to local shops, restaurants ,and parks. Community amenities include a neighborhood clubhouse, amenity pool, open event lawn for local gatherings and movies, outdoor terrace space, and a children’s play area. Our client desired to build a community that was unique to Southern Pines with rear-loaded alleys, gravel walks, and naturalized streetscapes to reduce the amount of impervious surface. KoontzJones Design worked closely with Town officials to develop these unique standards that define the overall character of the community. Preservation of mature long leaf pines throughout the property combined with a unique character and design for each home gives you the feeling of stepping back into time and that the neighborhood was built a century ago.
