GrayBull CLUB | Maxwell, NE

The Dormie Network is currently in development of their seventh golf course and first new-build facility. The course is set within the raw and natural dune-scape of the Nebraska Sandhills. This region is quickly becoming a “golf course mecca,” due to its near perfect landscape for golf. Pure sand terrain set on the nation’s largest underground aquifer and ideal conditions for ‘firm and fast’ turf grass to grow make this area unique. The David McLay Kidd-design is an 18-hole continuous routing that stretches out over the 1,600+ acre property. KoontzJones Design developed an overall master plan inclusive of a half-mile long entrance road, Clubhouse and ‘Party Barn,’ and thirteen ‘Executive’ and two ‘Owner’s’ cottages, all set atop an elevated ridge that overlooks the golf course and horizon beyond. KoontzJones Design worked diligently with the client to thoughtfully place each cottage amongst the undulating sand dunes and will look to re-establish the natural dune-scape and native grasses to the edge of the buildings.
